The history of this charity organization dates back to 1994. Queensland’s Royal Society for the Protection of Animals began a charity organization for dog’s walk in order to raise community awareness of vulnerable animals and raise $1 million to help animals. In October 1994, the first million Paws walk was held at the New Farm Park in Brisbane. This was the first attempt. This idea was accepted by the country in 1996. By 2004, there were 60 promenades and approximately 30,000 and 25,000 animals in each Australian state and territory.

Million Paws Walk is the largest fund-raising organization for the Royal Animal Protection Association.
