Everything was carefully packaged at the factory (not to mention shipping) and all seams sealed to prevent loss. I have everything neat and organized according to the pieces listed in the instructions. You may want to label each group of components with a sticky note. Then go to work. Assembly was simple and straightforward using the simple, logical diagrams shown on the individual instruction sheet. No tight, discreet zooms here. All fasteners are M8 hex socket head screws except the three M8 duplex screws. No wood screws are used for assembly, making it very stable. There are two wood screws for the wall mount, but unlike models in the same price range at big box pet stores, this is a very sturdy cat tower. The only negative is that the included 5mm allen wrench is too short to be useful. So throw it away and use a suitable 5mm Allen wrench. I am very impressed with the construction and size of this full size cat tower. Everything is stable and stable. And the price makes it an excellent value.

This small cat tree has many great features that I knew would go unnoticed if I placed it on the floor in the corner of the room. Cats love heights, so I placed this 30" cat tree on top of a 32" open shelf that I no longer use. I simply placed the base of the scraper on top of the cabinet. The rest of the scratcher is easily assembled as usual. My cat loves padded perches, especially thick ones, and now has a larger padded perch to sit on, as well as a larger swing for my swing-obsessed cat. The round, angled scratching post is a new feature that we don't have on any of our other scratching posts, so it's really fun. It gives them new ideas. A flat cat at the base of the tree will create more interest sitting on top of the dresser than if it were on the ground. All in all, a smart DIY upgrade for your medium and short cat tree!
